Repairs are being made to a fire hydrant which broke after a fire at the community landfill site last week.
The combination of the fire, a damaged hydrant and scheduled maintenance to the community’s water tower caused a sudden drop in water pressure throughout the community last Thursday afternoon.
Delaware Nation is closing its landfill site. There is a meeting coming up on Saturday, April 26 from 10am to 12pm.

Scholarship Opportunity - The University of Toronto Medicine Youth Summer Program
The University of Toronto Medicine Youth Summer Program is offering an incredible scholarship opportunity to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students in grades 10-12 to spend one week experiencing the life of a university student.
The Delaware Nation is advising residents that a fire at the dump earlier today has resulted in reduced water pressure throughout the community.
A fire hydrant broke after it was used by fire crews. The Nation’s water and public works crews are repairing the damaged fire hydrant. However, as a result, water pressure has been reduced until the repairs can be made.
