Delaware Nation’s Chief Greg Peters welcomes Naahii Ridge students at start of new school year

Chief Peters meets grade 1 and 2 students at Naahii Ridge School.

On Thursday September 18th, Delaware Nation Chief Greg Peters dropped into Naahii Ridge Public School in Ridgetown to welcome the Grades 1 and 2 students to our territory, and wish them a happy and successful school year.

Chief Peters was accompanied by Brent Stonefish, Delaware Nation Education Department Acting Supervisor, who sang a traditional Lunaapeewak Welcome Song! When the children thanked Chief Peters and Mr. Stonefish for visiting, you could clearly hear the word “Anushiik,” from several of the assembled students! Anushiik means thank-you in our language! A great time was had by all.
