Repairs are being made to a fire hydrant which broke after a fire at the community landfill site last week.
The combination of the fire, a damaged hydrant and scheduled maintenance to the community’s water tower caused a sudden drop in water pressure throughout the community last Thursday afternoon.
The Nation’s water crews have safely removed the faulty hydrant from service, while repairs are being made.
People are invited to contact the Delaware Nation’s water department if they observe problems with the community water system and/or fire hydrants, or experience household water problems, such as a decrease in pressure, or discolouration.
The water plant operator can be reached at the water plant, 519-692-9612 or on his cell 519-360-8524.
